Repairs and leaks.
Small jobs stay small jobs. If half a dozen slates have slipped and the rest of the roof is sound, we refix them and tell you the roof is fine. We would rather do an honest repair than sell a covering that has another decade in it — round here the recommendation is worth more to us than the one oversold job.
Most of what we are called out to is one of four things: fixings that have rusted through and let a slate go, a lead valley or flashing that has split, ridge mortar that has finally let the wind under a ridge tile, or perished felt at the eaves dropping water behind the gutter. None of those needs a new roof, and all of them will if they are left long enough.
Coming out to look costs you nothing, and there is no call-out charge whatever we find. You get photographs from the roof either way, so you can see the problem for yourself instead of taking our word for it.

Water rarely comes in where it comes through. We check the loft as well as the roof, because the stain on the ceiling is usually nowhere near the hole.

Slating and tiling
Nearly every pitched roof on this coast is slate. Stripping them, re-covering them, matching them to the terrace next door and putting stone back on the ones that had it.
Flat roofs
Fibreglass, EPDM rubber and torch-on felt for extensions, dormers, garages and porches. Laid to falls so water actually leaves the roof.
Chimneys and leadwork
Repointing, flaunching, chimney removal and rebuilds, plus lead flashings, valleys and soakers cut and dressed on site.
Gutters, fascias and soffits
The cheapest part of the house to look after and the one most often left. Clearing, repairing and replacing gutters, downpipes, fascias and soffits.
