Where we work, and how far away we really are.
We are based in Cleator Moor and cover West Cumbria daily, with work further out across the county. We know what we are walking onto in each of them — because a Georgian terrace in Whitehaven, a 1950s estate in Seascale and a Lakeland slate roof in Keswick are three different jobs.

Where we are based.
Three bases, so an emergency in any of these towns gets a local response rather than somebody setting off across the county.
Cleator Moor
CA25Home. The yard is here and most of us grew up within a mile of it.
One of our bases
Egremont
CA22One of our bases, two miles down the road, and the town we do most of our work in.
About 6 minutes away
Keswick
CA12Our Keswick base. Lakeland green slate, National Park planning, and people who work in it every week.
About 45 minutes away
03/
In and out most days.
Close enough that a single slipped slate is worth ringing about.
Whitehaven
CA28A Georgian planned town with a huge conservation area, and roofs that have to be done to match.
About 12 minutes away
Frizington
CA26Long straight mining terraces on an exposed rise, two miles from the yard.
About 5 minutes away
St Bees
CA27The most exposed roofs we work on. Nothing between the village and the Irish Sea.
About 15 minutes away
Beckermet
CA21An old village with two churches, modern estates behind it, and farm buildings around it.
About 13 minutes away
Distington
CA14On the A595 between Whitehaven and Workington — we drive through it most days.
About 13 minutes away
04/
A regular run.
Twenty minutes to half an hour. Routine work, planned into the week.
Workington
CA14The biggest town we cover, and the one with the widest range of roofs in it.
About 22 minutes away
Cockermouth
CA13A Georgian market town where two rivers meet, with a conservation area over most of it.
About 28 minutes away
Maryport
CA15A Georgian harbour town laid out on a grid, taking the weather off the Solway.
About 30 minutes away
Seascale
CA20Victorian seaside villas at the front, and a whole town of 1950s Sellafield housing behind.
About 22 minutes away
Gosforth
CA20A sandstone village with a Viking cross in the churchyard, and Wasdale behind it.
About 22 minutes away

Further afield.
Real work, but a trip rather than a call-out — and we say so rather than pretend otherwise.
Somewhere not on the list? Ring 07743 455071 and ask. We go further than this for the right job, and we will tell you straight if you would be better off with somebody nearer.
Wherever you are, the look is free.
No call-out charge anywhere on this list. Tell us what you can see from the ground and we'll come and find out what it actually is.
